Deze initiatief is te danken aan de beslissing van Red Hat om vanaf 31 december 2021 geen updates meer uit te geven voor het klassieke CentOS 8 en in plaats daarvan de focus te leggen op het testproject CentOS Stream.      <\/p>\n<p>Hoewel Red Hat Enterprise Linux en CentOS een stevige positie hebben verworven in de financi\u00eble sector, kunnen de fundamentele veranderingen in CentOS financi\u00eble bedrijven ertoe aanzetten hun keuzes met betrekking tot besturingssystemen te heroverwegen. Enkele punten die worden genoemd om de financi\u00eble dienstenindustrie te bewegen van CentOS naar Ubuntu over te stappen zijn:   <\/p>\n<ul>\n<li class=\"l\"> Een voorspelbare releaseplanning.\n<li class=\"l\"> Ondersteuning op bedrijfsniveau met updates gedurende 10 jaar, kernupdates zonder herstart en SLA.\n<li class=\"l\"> Hoge prestaties en veelzijdigheid.\n<li class=\"l\"> Beveiliging en certificering van de cryptografische stack voor naleving van de FIPS 140-2 Niveau 1-vereisten.\n<li class=\"l\"> Geschiktheid voor gebruik in private en publieke clouds.\n<li class=\"l\"> Ondersteuning voor Kubernetes.
