Het pakket wordt verspreid onder de LGPL- en GPL-licenties, waarbij de ontwikkeling van FFmpeg parallel aan het MPlayer-project plaatsvindt.     <\/p>\n<p>De wijzigingen die zijn toegevoegd in FFmpeg 4.4 omvatten:   <\/p>\n<ul>\n<li class=\"l\"> De mogelijkheid om de VDPAU (Video Decode and Presentation) API te gebruiken voor hardwarematige versnelling van video-decodering in de HEVC\/H.265 (10\/12bit) en VP9 (10\/12bit) formaten.\n<li class=\"l\"> Ondersteuning voor video-decodering in het AV1-formaat is voorzien, met gebruik van NVIDIA NVDEC- en Intel QSV (Quick Sync Video)-hardwareversnelling, evenals via de DXVA2\/D3D11VA API.\n<li class=\"l\">De mogelijkheid om AV1 te coderen in monochrome modus is toegevoegd, met gebruik van de libaom-bibliotheek (versie 2.0.1 of hoger vereist).\n<li class=\"l\"> De mogelijkheid om video in AV1-formaat te coderen met behulp van de SVT-AV1-encoder (Scalable Video Technology AV1), waarbij gebruik wordt gemaakt van de mogelijkheden voor hardwarematige parallelisatie in moderne Intel CPU's.\n<li class=\"l\"> Een apparaat voor uitvoer via het AudioToolbox-framework is toegevoegd.\n<li class=\"l\"> Ondersteuning voor het protocol \u00abgophers\u00bb (gopher over TLS) is toegevoegd.\n<li class=\"l\"> Ondersteuning voor het RIST (Reliable Internet Stream Transport) protocol is toegevoegd, met gebruik van librist.\n<li class=\"l\"> Ondersteuning voor de encoder op basis van libwavpack is verwijderd.\n<li class=\"l\"> Nieuwe decoders zijn toegevoegd: AV1 (met hardwarematige decodering), AV1 (via VAAPI), class=\"l\"> Nieuwe encoders zijn toegevoegd: RPZA, PFM, Cineform HD, OpenEXR, SpeedHQ, ADPCM IMA Ubisoft APM, ADPCM Argonaut Games, High Voltage Software ADPCM, ADPCM IMA AMV, TTML (ondertitels).\n<li class=\"l\"> Nieuwe media-container multiplexers (muxers) zijn toegevoegd: AMV, Rayman 2 APM, ASF (Argonaut Games), TTML (ondertitels), LEGO Racers ALP (.tun en .pcm).\n<li class=\"l\"> Nieuwe media-container demultiplexers (demuxers) zijn toegevoegd: AV1 (lage overhead bitstream), ACE, AVS3, MacCaption, MOFLEX, MODS, MCA, SVS, BRP (Argonaut Games), DAT, aax, IPU,
