Vulnerability is caused by the ability to change the sysctl kernel parameter 'kernel.core_pattern' ('\/proc\/sys\/kernel\/core_pattern'), access to which was not blocked, even though it is not among the safe parameters for modification that only operate within the namespace of the current container. Using this parameter, the user from the container can alter the behavior of the Linux kernel regarding the handling of core files on the host environment and can initiate the execution of arbitrary commands with root privileges on the host by specifying a handler like '|\/bin\/sh -c 'commands'. <\/p>\n
