In this article, we have compiled all the information you need for a straightforward and quick upgrade to 3CX v16 Update 4 from older versions.<\/p>\n

There are many reasons to upgrade \u2014 you can learn about all the features that have appeared in v16 from the training course<\/a><\/noindex>. Here we will highlight the most important improvements noticeable to ordinary users \u2014 new mobile applications<\/a><\/noindex>, a communication widget for your website<\/a><\/noindex> i a VoIP softphone in the browser<\/a><\/noindex>.<\/a><\/noindex><\/p>\n

Before the upgrade \u2014 check your license<\/h2>\n

\nFirst of all, keep in mind that transitioning to the latest version of 3CX requires a license with an annual subscription or a perpetual license with an active upgrade subscription. Without an active upgrade subscription<\/a><\/noindex> , your new system simply will not activate. You can check the current status of your subscription in the section Settings > License<\/b>. It is also possible to check upgrade eligibility in the 3CX User Portal.<\/p>\n

Note that accurate subscription information in the PBX interface is only available starting from v15.5 Update 6 and above.<\/p>\n

If the subscription has expired<\/h3>\n

\nIf you have a perpetual license, you need to determine whether you are in a grace period during which you can extend the subscription. For this, please contact your 3CX partner who services you (or a chosen partner in your region<\/a><\/noindex>), or write directly to the User Support Department<\/a><\/noindex>. By the way, you can extend your upgrade subscription at any time, not just when it has already expired. Moreover, you can receive a 10% discount when purchasing updates for 3 years and 15% when purchasing for 5 years (this refers to the upgrade subscription for perpetual licenses).<\/p>\n

If it turns out that the grace period has already expired, you can exchange your perpetual license for a license with an annual subscription for free. After this, you will receive one year of free use of the converted license starting from the moment of exchange. After a year, you simply purchase<\/a><\/noindex> the annual license for the following year.
