A Oracle publicou o lan\u00e7amento da distribui\u00e7\u00e3o Oracle Linux 8.4, baseada na base de pacotes do Red Hat Enterprise Linux 8.4. Uma imagem ISO de instala\u00e7\u00e3o de 8,6 GB est\u00e1 dispon\u00edvel para download sem restri\u00e7\u00f5es, preparada para as arquiteturas x86_64 e ARM64 (aarch64). O acesso ao reposit\u00f3rio yum para Oracle Linux \u00e9 ilimitado e gratuito, com atualiza\u00e7\u00f5es bin\u00e1rias de pacotes para corre\u00e7\u00f5es de bugs (errata) e problemas de seguran\u00e7a. M\u00f3dulos do Application Stream tamb\u00e9m foram preparados para download separadamente. <\/p>\n

Al\u00e9m do pacote com o n\u00facleo do RHEL (baseado no n\u00facleo 4.18), a Oracle Linux oferece seu pr\u00f3prio n\u00facleo Unbreakable Enterprise Kernel 6, baseado no n\u00facleo Linux 5.4 e otimizado para trabalhar com software e hardware industriais da Oracle. Os c\u00f3digos-fonte do n\u00facleo, incluindo a divis\u00e3o em patches separados, est\u00e3o dispon\u00edveis no reposit\u00f3rio Git p\u00fablico da Oracle. O n\u00facleo Unbreakable Enterprise Kernel \u00e9 instalado por padr\u00e3o, posicionado como uma alternativa ao pacote padr\u00e3o do n\u00facleo RHEL e oferece uma s\u00e9rie de recursos avan\u00e7ados, como integra\u00e7\u00e3o com DTrace e suporte aprimorado ao Btrfs. <\/p>\n
