O GRUB suporta uma ampla variedade de plataformas, incluindo PCs comuns com BIOS, plataformas IEEE-1275 (hardware baseado em PowerPC\/Sparc64), sistemas EFI, RISC-V, hardware com processador compat\u00edvel MIPS Loongson 2E, sistemas Itanium, ARM, ARM64 e ARCS (SGI), dispositivos que utilizam o pacote livre CoreBoot.    <\/p>\n<p>Principais novidades:  <\/p>\n<ul>\n<li class=\"l\"> Foi adicionada a suporte ao mecanismo SBAT (UEFI Secure Boot Advanced Targeting), que resolve problemas relacionados \u00e0 revoga\u00e7\u00e3o de certificados que autenticam os carregadores para UEFI Secure Boot. O SBAT implica a adi\u00e7\u00e3o de novos metadados, que s\u00e3o autenticados por assinatura digital e podem ser inclu\u00eddos em listas de componentes permitidos ou proibidos para o UEFI Secure Boot. Os metadados especificados permitem manipular os n\u00fameros de vers\u00e3o dos componentes durante a revoga\u00e7\u00e3o, sem a necessidade de regenerar chaves para o Secure Boot e sem criar novas assinaturas.\n<li class=\"l\"> Foi adicionada a suporte ao formato de criptografia de discos LUKS2, que se diferencia do LUKS1 pela simplifica\u00e7\u00e3o do sistema de gerenciamento de chaves, pela possibilidade de utiliza\u00e7\u00e3o de setores de maior tamanho (4096 em vez de 512, reduzindo a carga durante a descriptografia), pela aplica\u00e7\u00e3o de identificadores simb\u00f3licos de parti\u00e7\u00f5es e por m\u00e9todos de reserva de metadados com possibilidade de recupera\u00e7\u00e3o autom\u00e1tica a partir de uma c\u00f3pia em caso de danos detectados.\n<li class=\"l\"> Foi descontinuado o suporte para curtos gaps MBR (\u00e1rea entre o MBR e o in\u00edcio da parti\u00e7\u00e3o do disco, que no GRUB \u00e9 utilizada para armazenar parte do carregador que n\u00e3o cabe no setor MBR).\n<li class=\"l\"> Foi adicionada a suporte a m\u00f3dulos XSM (Xen Security Modules), que permitem definir restri\u00e7\u00f5es e permiss\u00f5es adicionais para o hipervisor Xen, <a class=\"wpil_keyword_link\" href=\"https:\/\/prohoster.info\/pt\/vps\/\"   title=\"m\u00e1quinas virtuais\" data-wpil-keyword-link=\"linked\"  data-wpil-monitor-id=\"2061\">m\u00e1quinas virtuais<\/a> e recursos relacionados.\n<li class=\"l\"> Foi implementado um mecanismo de lockdown, semelhante a um conjunto de restri\u00e7\u00f5es no n\u00facleo do Linux.
