No pacote da base Debian testing, a partir do qual ser\u00e1 formado o lan\u00e7amento do Debian 12 \"Bookworm\", foi aceito o pacote fnt com a implementa\u00e7\u00e3o de um gerenciador de fontes, que resolve a tarefa de instalar fontes adicionais e manter as fontes existentes atualizadas. Al\u00e9m do Linux, o programa tamb\u00e9m pode ser utilizado no FreeBSD (recentemente adicionado um porto) e no macOS. O c\u00f3digo \u00e9 escrito em Shell e \u00e9 distribu\u00eddo sob a licen\u00e7a MIT. <\/p>\n

A ferramenta fnt \u00e9 posicionada como an\u00e1loga ao apt para fontes e suporta um conjunto de comandos semelhante para instala\u00e7\u00e3o, atualiza\u00e7\u00e3o e busca. H\u00e1 tamb\u00e9m um comando adicional para uma pr\u00e9-visualiza\u00e7\u00e3o mais intuitiva das fontes no console usando gr\u00e1ficos ASCII. Para uma visualiza\u00e7\u00e3o de maior qualidade das fontes oferecidas, um servi\u00e7o web foi desenvolvido no navegador. A ferramenta permite a instala\u00e7\u00e3o de fontes mais recentes, dispon\u00edveis no reposit\u00f3rio Debian Sid, bem como fontes externas da cole\u00e7\u00e3o Google Web Fonts. No total, cerca de 2000 fontes est\u00e3o dispon\u00edveis para instala\u00e7\u00e3o (480 do Debian Sid e 1420 do Google Web Fonts).
