Jiri Konecny da Red Hat anunciou o trabalho de moderniza\u00e7\u00e3o e melhoria da interface do usu\u00e1rio do instalador Anaconda, utilizado no Fedora, RHEL, CentOS e em algumas outras distribui\u00e7\u00f5es Linux. \u00c9 not\u00e1vel que, em vez da biblioteca GTK, a nova interface ser\u00e1 constru\u00edda com base em tecnologias web e permitir\u00e1 o gerenciamento remoto atrav\u00e9s do navegador. Observa-se que a decis\u00e3o de reestruturar o instalador j\u00e1 foi tomada, mas a implementa\u00e7\u00e3o ainda est\u00e1 na fase de prot\u00f3tipo, n\u00e3o estando pronta para demonstra\u00e7\u00e3o. <\/p>\n

Como base para a cria\u00e7\u00e3o da nova interface, ser\u00e3o utilizados componentes do projeto Cockpit, que \u00e9 usado nos produtos da Red Hat para configura\u00e7\u00e3o e gerenciamento de servidores<\/a>. O Cockpit foi escolhido como uma solu\u00e7\u00e3o bem estabelecida com suporte ao backend para intera\u00e7\u00e3o com o instalador (Anaconda DBus). Al\u00e9m disso, a utiliza\u00e7\u00e3o do Cockpit permitir\u00e1 alcan\u00e7ar uniformidade e padronizar diferentes componentes de gerenciamento do sistema. A aplica\u00e7\u00e3o de uma interface web aumentar\u00e1 significativamente a conveni\u00eancia do gerenciamento remoto da instala\u00e7\u00e3o, o que n\u00e3o pode ser comparado \u00e0 solu\u00e7\u00e3o atual baseada no protocolo VNC. <\/p>\n

A reestrutura\u00e7\u00e3o da interface ser\u00e1 baseada no trabalho j\u00e1 realizado para aumentar a modularidade do instalador e n\u00e3o ter\u00e1 um impacto significativo nos usu\u00e1rios do Fedora, uma vez que a maior parte do Anaconda j\u00e1 foi transformada em m\u00f3dulos que interagem atrav\u00e9s da API DBus, e a nova interface usar\u00e1 a API existente sem necessidade de reestrutura\u00e7\u00f5es internas.
