Um reposit\u00f3rio NPM est\u00e1 experimentando uma nova falha em massa em projetos devido a problemas na nova vers\u00e3o de uma das depend\u00eancias populares. A origem dos problemas foi a nova vers\u00e3o do pacote mini-css-extract-plugin 2.5.0, destinado a extrair CSS em arquivos separados. O pacote conta com mais de 10 milh\u00f5es de downloads semanais e \u00e9 usado como depend\u00eancia direta em mais de 7 mil projetos. <\/p>\n

Na nova vers\u00e3o, foram feitas altera\u00e7\u00f5es que quebram a compatibilidade ao importar a biblioteca, resultando em um erro ao tentar usar a constru\u00e7\u00e3o anteriormente permitida e descrita na documenta\u00e7\u00e3o 'const MiniCssExtractPlugin = require('mini-css-extract-plugin')', que ao migrar para a nova vers\u00e3o precisou ser substitu\u00edda por 'const MiniCssExtractPlugin = require('mini-css-extract-plugin').default'. <\/p>\n

O problema se manifestou em projetos que n\u00e3o aplicam uma fixa\u00e7\u00e3o expl\u00edcita ao n\u00famero da vers\u00e3o ao conectar depend\u00eancias. Como uma solu\u00e7\u00e3o alternativa, recomenda-se fixar a depend\u00eancia na vers\u00e3o anterior 2.4.5 adicionando 'overrides: {'mini-css-extract-plugin': '2.4.5'}' no Yarn ou usando o comando 'npm i -D --save-exact mini-css-extract-plugin@2.4.5' no NPM. <\/p>\n

Entre os afetados est\u00e3o os usu\u00e1rios do pacote create-react-app desenvolvido pela Facebook, que conecta o mini-css-extract-plugin como depend\u00eancia. Devido \u00e0 falta de fixa\u00e7\u00e3o na vers\u00e3o do mini-css-extract-plugin, as tentativas de iniciar o create-react-app resultavam na mensagem de erro 'TypeError: MiniCssExtractPlugin is not a constructor'. O problema tamb\u00e9m afetou pacotes como @wordpress\/scripts, @auth0\/auth0-spa-js, sql-formatter-gui, LedgerSMB, vip-go-mu-plugins, cybros, vue-cli, chore, entre outros.
