Foi apresentado o Unredacter, uma ferramenta que permite a recupera\u00e7\u00e3o do texto original ap\u00f3s sua oculta\u00e7\u00e3o utilizando filtros baseados em pixeliza\u00e7\u00e3o. Por exemplo, o programa pode ser usado para identificar dados confidenciais e senhas que foram pixelizados em capturas de tela ou imagens de documentos. Afirma-se que o algoritmo implementado no Unredacter supera utilit\u00e1rios semelhantes anteriormente dispon\u00edveis, como o Depix, e foi at\u00e9 mesmo utilizado com sucesso para passar no teste de detec\u00e7\u00e3o de texto pixelizado proposto pelo laborat\u00f3rio Jumpsec. O c\u00f3digo do programa \u00e9 escrito em TypeScript e distribu\u00eddo sob a licen\u00e7a GPLv3. <\/p>\n

Para restaurar o texto no Unredacter, \u00e9 aplicado um m\u00e9todo de tentativa e erro, onde \u00e9 realizada a compara\u00e7\u00e3o de uma parte da imagem pixelizada original com uma vers\u00e3o sintetizada atrav\u00e9s da combina\u00e7\u00e3o de pares de caracteres pixeliz\u00e1veis com diferentes deslocamentos e caracter\u00edsticas alteradas. Durante a tentativa, uma op\u00e7\u00e3o que se aproxima mais do fragmento original \u00e9 progressivamente selecionada. Para um funcionamento bem-sucedido, \u00e9 necess\u00e1rio adivinhar corretamente o tamanho, tipo e par\u00e2metros de espa\u00e7amento da fonte, al\u00e9m de calcular o tamanho da c\u00e9lula na grade de pixeliza\u00e7\u00e3o e a posi\u00e7\u00e3o de sobreposi\u00e7\u00e3o desta grade sobre o texto (as op\u00e7\u00f5es de deslocamento da grade s\u00e3o testadas automaticamente).
