Como transporte, podem ser utilizados ssh, rsh ou o protocolo pr\u00f3prio do rsync. \u00c9 suportada a organiza\u00e7\u00e3o de servidores rsync an\u00f4nimos, otimizados para garantir a sincroniza\u00e7\u00e3o de espelhos. O c\u00f3digo do projeto \u00e9 distribu\u00eddo sob a licen\u00e7a GPLv3.    <\/p>\n<p>Entre as mudan\u00e7as adicionadas:  <\/p>\n<ul>\n<li class=\"l\"> Foi proposto um novo m\u00e9todo de prote\u00e7\u00e3o dos argumentos da linha de comando, que se assemelha \u00e0 op\u00e7\u00e3o anteriormente dispon\u00edvel \u00ab\u2014protect-args\u00bb (\u00ab-s\u00bb), mas n\u00e3o interrompe o funcionamento do script rrsync (rsync restrito). A prote\u00e7\u00e3o consiste na fuga de caracteres especiais, incluindo espa\u00e7os, ao transmitir solicita\u00e7\u00f5es para um interpretador de comandos externo. O novo m\u00e9todo n\u00e3o escapa caracteres especiais dentro de um bloco entre aspas, permitindo o uso de destaque simples do nome do arquivo entre aspas sem necessidade de fuga adicional; por exemplo, o comando \u00abrsync -aiv host: 'um arquivo simples.pdf' .\u00bb agora \u00e9 permitido. Para scripts que foram desenvolvidos para processar apenas o caractere \u00ab.\u00bb em n\u00fameros, a compatibilidade pode ser mantida configurando a localidade para \u00abC\u00bb.\n<li class=\"l\"> Uma vulnerabilidade (CVE-2018-25032) no c\u00f3digo inclu\u00eddo da biblioteca zlib foi corrigida, evitando um buffer overflow ao tentar comprimir uma sequ\u00eancia de caracteres especialmente constru\u00edda.\n<li class=\"l\"> Foi implementada a op\u00e7\u00e3o \u00ab\u2014fsync\u00bb que chama a fun\u00e7\u00e3o fsync() a cada opera\u00e7\u00e3o em um arquivo para descartar o cache do disco.\n<li class=\"l\"> No script rsync-ssl, a op\u00e7\u00e3o \u00ab-verify_hostname\u00bb foi ativada ao se conectar ao openssl.\n<li class=\"l\"> Adicionada a op\u00e7\u00e3o \u00ab\u2014copy-devices\u00bb para copiar arquivos de dispositivos como arquivos normais.\n<li class=\"l\"> Reduzido o consumo de mem\u00f3ria durante a transfer\u00eancia incremental de um grande n\u00famero de pequenos diret\u00f3rios.\n<li class=\"l\"> Na plataforma macOS, a op\u00e7\u00e3o \u00ab\u2014atimes\u00bb foi habilitada.\n<li class=\"l\"> Implementada a possibilidade de atualizar os atributos xattrs para arquivos em modo somente leitura, se o usu\u00e1rio tiver permiss\u00e3o para alterar as permiss\u00f5es (por exemplo, ao ser executado com privil\u00e9gios de root).\n<li class=\"l\"> Adicionado e ativado por padr\u00e3o o par\u00e2metro \u00ab\u2014info=NONREG\u00bb para a exibi\u00e7\u00e3o de avisos sobre a transfer\u00eancia de arquivos especiais.\n<li class=\"l\"> O script rrsync (rsync restrito) foi reescrito em Python. Novas op\u00e7\u00f5es \u00ab-munge\u00bb, \u00ab-no-lock\u00bb e \u00ab-no-del\u00bb foram adicionadas. Por padr\u00e3o, o bloqueio das op\u00e7\u00f5es \u00ab\u2014copy-links\u00bb (-L), \u00ab\u2014copy-dirlinks\u00bb (-k) e \u00ab\u2014keep-dirlinks\u00bb (-K) est\u00e3o habilitados para dificultar ataques que manipulam links simb\u00f3licos de diret\u00f3rios.\n<li class=\"l\"> O script atomic-rsync foi reescrito em Python e ampliado com a capacidade de ignorar c\u00f3digos de retorno diferentes de zero.
