A empresa GitHub anunciou a decis\u00e3o de, at\u00e9 o final de 2023, migrar todos os usu\u00e1rios do servi\u00e7o GitHub.com que participam do desenvolvimento de c\u00f3digo para o uso obrigat\u00f3rio da autentica\u00e7\u00e3o de dois fatores (2FA). Segundo a GitHub, o acesso de invasores aos reposit\u00f3rios devido ao sequestro de contas representa uma das amea\u00e7as mais perigosas, pois, em caso de um ataque bem-sucedido, modifica\u00e7\u00f5es ocultas podem ser inseridas em produtos e bibliotecas populares utilizados como depend\u00eancias. <\/p>\n

Esse novo requisito permitir\u00e1 refor\u00e7ar a prote\u00e7\u00e3o do processo de desenvolvimento e proteger os reposit\u00f3rios contra altera\u00e7\u00f5es maliciosas decorrentes do vazamento de credenciais, uso da mesma senha em um site comprometido, invas\u00f5es no sistema local do desenvolvedor ou aplica\u00e7\u00e3o de m\u00e9todos de engenharia social. Segundo estat\u00edsticas da GitHub, atualmente, apenas 16,5% dos usu\u00e1rios ativos do servi\u00e7o utilizam autentica\u00e7\u00e3o de dois fatores. At\u00e9 o final de 2023, a GitHub pretende proibir o envio de altera\u00e7\u00f5es sem a utiliza\u00e7\u00e3o da autentica\u00e7\u00e3o de dois fatores.
