At\u00e9 agora, o projeto oferecia a possibilidade de usar Mercurial ou Git \u00e0 escolha dos desenvolvedores, mas o reposit\u00f3rio principal utilizava principalmente Mercurial. Como a manuten\u00e7\u00e3o de duas sistemas gera uma carga consider\u00e1vel para as equipes respons\u00e1veis pela infraestrutura, foi decidido que, no futuro, o desenvolvimento ser\u00e1 limitado ao uso apenas do Git. A Mozilla continuar\u00e1 a utilizar os servi\u00e7os Bugzilla, moz-phab, Phabricator e Lando.    <\/p>\n<p>Espera-se que a migra\u00e7\u00e3o para o Git leve pelo menos 6 meses. A transi\u00e7\u00e3o ocorrer\u00e1 em duas fases:  <\/p>\n<ul>\n<li class=\"l\">  Na primeira fase, ocorrer\u00e1 a mudan\u00e7a do reposit\u00f3rio principal do projeto de Mercurial para Git, e o suporte ao Mercurial ser\u00e1 removido dos computadores dos desenvolvedores. Nesta fase, o Git ser\u00e1 utilizado localmente nos sistemas dos desenvolvedores, enquanto a submiss\u00e3o de patches para revis\u00e3o continuar\u00e1 a ser feita atrav\u00e9s do moz-phab. Todas as altera\u00e7\u00f5es ser\u00e3o inicialmente armazenadas no reposit\u00f3rio Git, e depois transferidas para a infraestrutura existente do Mercurial.\n<li class=\"l\"> Na segunda fase, a substitui\u00e7\u00e3o gradual do Mercurial pelo Git na infraestrutura do projeto ser\u00e1 realizada passo a passo.
