O GitHub anunciou a inclus\u00e3o, por padr\u00e3o, para todos os reposit\u00f3rios p\u00fablicos, de um mecanismo de prote\u00e7\u00e3o contra a inclus\u00e3o em reposit\u00f3rios de dados confidenciais deixados inadvertidamente pelos desenvolvedores no c\u00f3digo. Por exemplo, \u00e9 comum que arquivos de configura\u00e7\u00e3o com senhas de bancos de dados, tokens ou chaves de acesso \u00e0 API sejam acidentalmente inclu\u00eddos no reposit\u00f3rio. Anteriormente, a varredura era realizada em modo passivo e permitia identificar vazamentos que j\u00e1 haviam ocorrido. Agora, a verifica\u00e7\u00e3o \u00e9 feita automaticamente na fase de publica\u00e7\u00e3o (git push) e resulta em um aviso ao tentar adicionar commits que contenham dados confidenciais. <\/p>\n

Mais de 250 modelos foram implementados para identificar diferentes tipos de chaves, tokens, certificados e credenciais.
