Foram geradas atualiza\u00e7\u00f5es corretivas para todos os ramos suportados do PostgreSQL 16.4, 15.8, 14.13, 13.16, 12.20, nas quais foram corrigidos 56 erros identificados nos \u00faltimos tr\u00eas meses. Entre outras coisas, as novas vers\u00f5es corrigiram uma vulnerabilidade (CVE-2024-7348), considerada cr\u00edtica (n\u00edvel de severidade 8.8 de 10). A vulnerabilidade \u00e9 causada por uma condi\u00e7\u00e3o de corrida na ferramenta pg_dump, permitindo que um invasor, com permiss\u00e3o para criar e excluir objetos permanentes no SGBD, execute c\u00f3digo SQL arbitr\u00e1rio com os direitos do usu\u00e1rio com os quais a ferramenta pg_dump \u00e9 executada (normalmente, o pg_dump \u00e9 executado com privil\u00e9gios de superusu\u00e1rio para fazer backup do SGBD). <\/p>\n

Para uma ataque bem-sucedido, \u00e9 necess\u00e1rio monitorar o momento de execu\u00e7\u00e3o da ferramenta pg_dump, o que \u00e9 facilmente alcan\u00e7ado atrav\u00e9s de manipula\u00e7\u00f5es com uma transa\u00e7\u00e3o aberta. O ataque consiste em substituir a sequ\u00eancia (sequence) por uma view ou tabela externa que define o c\u00f3digo SQL a ser executado, no momento em que o pg_dump \u00e9 iniciado, quando a informa\u00e7\u00e3o sobre a presen\u00e7a da sequ\u00eancia j\u00e1 foi obtida, mas os dados ainda n\u00e3o foram exibidos. Para bloquear a vulnerabilidade, foi adicionada a configura\u00e7\u00e3o \"restrict_nonsystem_relation_kind\", que pro\u00edbe a divulga\u00e7\u00e3o de n\u00e3o-system views e o acesso a tabelas externas no pg_dump.
