A empresa Checkpoint informou sobre a descoberta de um malware chamado GodLoader, desenvolvido na linguagem GDScript e utilizando o motor de jogo aberto Godot para sua execu\u00e7\u00e3o (o motor Godot \u00e9 utilizado como plataforma de lan\u00e7amento). A escrita de c\u00f3digo em GDScript permitiu a dissemina\u00e7\u00e3o de programas maliciosos entre os entusiastas de jogos de computador sob a forma de mods e recursos de jogos no formato pck, processados pelo motor Godot. O uso de GDScript tamb\u00e9m possibilitou a independ\u00eancia do sistema operacional que est\u00e1 instalado no usu\u00e1rio (Windows, macOS, Linux, Android e iOS). <\/p>\n

Como a execu\u00e7\u00e3o de programas em GDScript requer a presen\u00e7a do motor Godot, o principal alvo do ataque foram os usu\u00e1rios de jogos nesse motor. As primeiras variantes do novo malware datam de 29 de junho. Foram registradas mais de 17 mil sistemas afetados pelo GodLoader. Geralmente, as v\u00edtimas do ataque baixavam de fontes externas e de reposit\u00f3rios fraudulentos no GitHub arquivos pck n\u00e3o verificados com o GodLoader embutido. Ap\u00f3s a execu\u00e7\u00e3o do script contido no arquivo que utilizava GDScript, o GodLoader realizava o download e a execu\u00e7\u00e3o de componentes maliciosos adicionais, realizando a\u00e7\u00f5es como minera\u00e7\u00e3o de criptomoedas e envio ao sistema do usu\u00e1rio de senhas e chaves de acesso salvas.
