O projeto conta com um total de 6,7 milh\u00f5es de linhas de c\u00f3digo, das quais 1,6 milh\u00f5es pertencem a aplica\u00e7\u00f5es e 5,1 milh\u00f5es a bibliotecas e componentes b\u00e1sicos do GNOME.  <\/p>\n<ul>\n<li class=\"l\"> Para as bibliotecas GNOME, a linguagem C continua a ser usada por padr\u00e3o e mais de 2\/3 do c\u00f3digo dos componentes b\u00e1sicos do GNOME s\u00e3o escritos nesta linguagem. Os componentes mais significativos incluem GTK (820 mil linhas), GLib (560 mil linhas) e Mutter (390 mil linhas).\n<li class=\"l\"> S\u00e3o 523 mil linhas de c\u00f3digo escritas em Rust, das quais cerca de 400 mil s\u00e3o utilizadas em wrappers para bibliotecas b\u00e1sicas e, em sua maioria, geradas automaticamente. As bibliotecas em Rust incluem Librsvg e glycin.\n<li class=\"l\"> Aproximadamente 190 mil linhas foram escritas na linguagem Vala, das quais cerca de 100 mil est\u00e3o presentes no reposit\u00f3rio Vala.\n<li class=\"l\">  Em Python, existem 242 mil linhas de c\u00f3digo, das quais 110 mil pertencem \u00e0 aplica\u00e7\u00e3o Orca.\n<li class=\"l\"> 106 mil linhas foram escritas em JavaScript, sendo que 65 mil est\u00e3o presentes no GNOME Shell, o que representa aproximadamente metade de todo o c\u00f3digo do GNOME Shell.  <\/ul>\n<p>Distribui\u00e7\u00e3o das linguagens de programa\u00e7\u00e3o utilizadas em bibliotecas e componentes do GNOME:    <center><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"Estat\u00edsticas sobre as linguagens de programa\u00e7\u00e3o utilizadas no ecossistema GNOME\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/12\/b3dab91d37fc23e5ed926d5b805df3fb.png\" style=\"display:block;margin: 0 auto;\" \/><\/center>      <\/p>\n<p>Distribui\u00e7\u00e3o das linguagens de programa\u00e7\u00e3o nos aplicativos b\u00e1sicos para GNOME: 44,8% do c\u00f3digo est\u00e1 escrito em C, 20,7% em Vala, 10,3% em Rust, 6,9% em Python, 13,8% em JavaScript e 3,45% em C++.      <center><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"Estat\u00edsticas sobre as linguagens de programa\u00e7\u00e3o utilizadas no ecossistema GNOME\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/12\/1c1ce091b0a6bb45a715155f8d0ae234.png\" style=\"display:block;margin: 0 auto;\" \/><\/center>    <\/p>\n<p> Ao considerar programas de terceiros dispon\u00edveis no cat\u00e1logo GNOME Circle, a maior parte do c\u00f3digo (41,7%) \u00e9 escrita em Rust, seguida por Python (29,2%) e Vala (13%). Apenas 6% dos programas s\u00e3o escritos em C, 10% em JavaScript e 1% em Crystal. Os programas mais populares do cat\u00e1logo GNOME Circle (com base no n\u00famero de instala\u00e7\u00f5es da \u00faltima atualiza\u00e7\u00e3o) s\u00e3o: Blanket, Eyedropper, Newsflash, Fragments e
