O desenvolvimento est\u00e1 ocorrendo do zero, por interesse, e n\u00e3o se baseia no c\u00f3digo de sistemas existentes. Neste contexto, os autores estabeleceram o objetivo de levar o SerenityOS a um n\u00edvel adequado para o uso cotidiano, mantendo a est\u00e9tica dos sistemas do final dos anos 90, mas incorporando ideias \u00fateis dos sistemas modernos para usu\u00e1rios experientes. O c\u00f3digo \u00e9 escrito em C++ e <noindex><a rel=\"nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/github.com\/SerenityOS\/serenity\">\u00e9 disponibilizado<\/a><\/noindex> sob a licen\u00e7a BSD. <\/p>\n<p>O projeto \u00e9 um bom exemplo de que, ao definir um objetivo espec\u00edfico e dia ap\u00f3s dia um pouco <noindex><a rel=\"nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/github.com\/SerenityOS\/serenity\/commits\/master\">avan\u00e7ando<\/a><\/noindex> como um hobby, \u00e9 poss\u00edvel criar um sistema operacional totalmente funcional e atrair a participa\u00e7\u00e3o <noindex><a rel=\"nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/github.com\/SerenityOS\/serenity\/graphs\/contributors\">de simpatizantes<\/a><\/noindex>.
