Criada sob a \u00e9gide da Linux Foundation, a Academy Software Foundation tem como objetivo promover software livre na ind\u00fastria cinematogr\u00e1fica, apresentou<\/a><\/noindex> seu primeiro projeto conjunto OpenTimelineIO<\/a><\/noindex> (OTIO), originalmente criado pelo est\u00fadio de anima\u00e7\u00e3o Pixar e posteriormente desenvolvido com a participa\u00e7\u00e3o da Lucasfilm e da Netflix. O pacote foi utilizado na cria\u00e7\u00e3o de filmes como Viva \u2013 A Vida \u00e9 uma Festa, Os Incr\u00edveis 2 e Toy Story 4.<\/p>\n

OpenTimelineIO inclui um formato utilizado na fase de p\u00f3s-produ\u00e7\u00e3o para troca de dados relacionados \u00e0 edi\u00e7\u00e3o e montagem de v\u00eddeos, entre diferentes departamentos do est\u00fadio respons\u00e1veis por roteiro, edi\u00e7\u00e3o e produ\u00e7\u00e3o. O formato em si n\u00e3o \u00e9 um cont\u00eainer para v\u00eddeo, mas permite transmitir informa\u00e7\u00f5es sobre a ordem e o tamanho dos trechos, referenciando uma m\u00eddia externa padr\u00e3o. O projeto oferece uma API aberta que permite manipular este formato e integrar seu suporte em projetos externos, al\u00e9m de um conjunto de plugins para convers\u00e3o de outros formatos de edi\u00e7\u00e3o. Plugins de importa\u00e7\u00e3o\/exporta\u00e7\u00e3o foram preparados para formatos como Final Cut Pro XML, AAF e CMX 3600 EDL. <\/p>\n

Al\u00e9m do novo projeto em conjunto, a organiza\u00e7\u00e3o Linux Foundation tamb\u00e9m anunciou<\/a><\/noindex> maior na ades\u00e3o<\/a><\/noindex> \u00e0 iniciativa da Academy Software Foundation de novos participantes, incluindo Netflix,
\nRodeo FX e MovieLabs. Entre as empresas que se juntaram anteriormente est\u00e3o: Animal Logic, Autodesk, Blue Sky Studios, Cisco, DNEG, DreamWorks, Epic Games, Foundry, Google Cloud, Intel, SideFX, Walt Disney Studios e Weta Digital.<\/p>\n

A Academy Software Foundation \u00e9 vista como uma plataforma neutra para coordenar a intera\u00e7\u00e3o entre diferentes projetos, compartilhar recursos e acumular know-how nas \u00e1reas relacionadas \u00e0 ind\u00fastria de m\u00eddia e produ\u00e7\u00e3o cinematogr\u00e1fica.
