A vulnerabilidade recebeu o nome de checkm8 e permite obter controle total sobre o dispositivo. O exploit publicado pode potencialmente ser utilizado para contornar a verifica\u00e7\u00e3o de firmware (Jailbreak), organizar o dual boot de outros sistemas operacionais e diversas vers\u00f5es do iOS. <\/p>\n<p>O problema \u00e9 not\u00e1vel, pois o Bootrom est\u00e1 na mem\u00f3ria NAND somente de leitura, o que impede a corre\u00e7\u00e3o do problema em dispositivos j\u00e1 lan\u00e7ados (a vulnerabilidade pode ser corrigida apenas em novos lotes de dispositivos). O problema se manifesta em SoCs de A5 a A11, utilizados em produtos lan\u00e7ados de 2011 a 2017, come\u00e7ando com o iPhone 4S e terminando com os modelos iPhone 8 e X. <\/p>\n<p>Uma vers\u00e3o preliminar do c\u00f3digo para explorar a vulnerabilidade j\u00e1 est\u00e1 integrada na ferramenta de c\u00f3digo aberto (GPLv3) <noindex><a rel=\"nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/github.com\/axi0mX\/ipwndfu\">ipwndfu<\/a><\/noindex>, destinada a desassociar a firmware da Apple. O exploit atualmente se limita \u00e0s fun\u00e7\u00f5es de cria\u00e7\u00e3o de dump do SecureROM, descriptografando chaves para firmwares do iOS e ativando JTAG. Um jailbreak automatizado completo para a \u00faltima vers\u00e3o do iOS \u00e9 poss\u00edvel, mas ainda n\u00e3o foi realizado, pois requer trabalho adicional. Atualmente, o exploit j\u00e1 est\u00e1 adaptado para SoCs s5l8947x, s5l8950x, s5l8955x, s5l8960x, t8002, t8004, t8010, t8011 e t8015, e no futuro ser\u00e1 ampliado para suportar s5l8940x, s5l8942x,
