O WebAssembly pode ser aplicado a tarefas que requerem alta performance, como codifica\u00e7\u00e3o de v\u00eddeo, processamento de \u00e1udio, manipula\u00e7\u00e3o de gr\u00e1ficos e 3D, desenvolvimento de jogos, opera\u00e7\u00f5es criptogr\u00e1ficas, c\u00e1lculos matem\u00e1ticos e cria\u00e7\u00e3o de implementa\u00e7\u00f5es port\u00e1veis de linguagens de programa\u00e7\u00e3o.<\/p>\n<p>O WebAssembly se assemelha muito ao Asm.js, mas difere por ser um formato bin\u00e1rio que n\u00e3o est\u00e1 vinculado ao JavaScript. No WebAssembly, n\u00e3o \u00e9 necess\u00e1rio o uso de um coletor de lixo, uma vez que o gerenciamento de mem\u00f3ria \u00e9 feito de forma expl\u00edcita.
