Timeshift \u00e9 um sistema de backup que utiliza rsync com links duros ou snapshots Btrfs para implementar funcionalidades semelhantes ao System Restore no Windows e ao Time Machine no macOS. O programa est\u00e1 dispon\u00edvel nos reposit\u00f3rios de v\u00e1rias distribui\u00e7\u00f5es e \u00e9 usado por padr\u00e3o no PCLinuxOS e no Linux Mint. A vulnerabilidade foi corrigida na vers\u00e3o <noindex><a rel=\"nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/github.com\/teejee2008\/timeshift\/releases\/tag\/v20.03\">Timeshift 20.03<\/a><\/noindex>.<\/p>\n<p>O problema \u00e9 causado pelo manuseio inadequado do diret\u00f3rio p\u00fablico \/tmp. Durante a cria\u00e7\u00e3o de um backup, o programa cria o diret\u00f3rio \/tmp\/timeshift, no qual um subdiret\u00f3rio com um nome aleat\u00f3rio \u00e9 criado, contendo um script shell com comandos executados com privil\u00e9gios de root. O subdiret\u00f3rio com o script tem um nome imprevis\u00edvel, mas o pr\u00f3prio \/tmp\/timeshift \u00e9 previs\u00edvel e n\u00e3o \u00e9 verificado para substitui\u00e7\u00e3o ou cria\u00e7\u00e3o em vez disso de um link simb\u00f3lico. Um invasor pode criar um diret\u00f3rio \/tmp\/timeshift em seu nome, ap\u00f3s o que pode monitorar a cria\u00e7\u00e3o do subdiret\u00f3rio e substituir esse subdiret\u00f3rio e o arquivo contido nele.
