Durante o desenvolvimento do LibreOffice 7.0, uma das principais mudan\u00e7as foi a utiliza\u00e7\u00e3o da biblioteca Skia do Google, al\u00e9m do suporte para renderiza\u00e7\u00e3o Vulkan. Esta biblioteca \u00e9 utilizada para desenhar a interface do usu\u00e1rio e renderizar texto. A funcionalidade est\u00e1 dispon\u00edvel no Windows e Linux. N\u00e3o h\u00e1 informa\u00e7\u00f5es sobre o macOS at\u00e9 o momento.<\/p>\n

De acordo com Lubo\u0161 Lu\u0148\u00e1k da Collabora, o c\u00f3digo baseado no Cairo \u00e9 excessivamente complexo. O uso do Skia \u00e9 mais simples, mesmo considerando o patch necess\u00e1rio para que o Skia utilize o FcPattern para sele\u00e7\u00e3o de fontes.<\/p>\n

Observa-se que a renderiza\u00e7\u00e3o de texto para Linux e Windows com a Skia precisa de melhorias, portanto, n\u00e3o est\u00e1 claro se esse m\u00e9todo ser\u00e1 utilizado por padr\u00e3o no LibreOffice 7.0, que ser\u00e1 lan\u00e7ado no in\u00edcio de agosto. \u00c9 poss\u00edvel que isso permane\u00e7a como uma op\u00e7\u00e3o, embora a situa\u00e7\u00e3o possa mudar no futuro.<\/p>\n

No geral, a s\u00e9tima vers\u00e3o promete v\u00e1rias melhorias. Entre elas, processamento r\u00e1pido de arquivos XLSX, aumento de desempenho, suporte para escalonamento HiDPI no Qt5 e melhorias na interface do usu\u00e1rio. Assim, o melhor pacote de escrit\u00f3rio gratuito continua a evoluir.<\/p>\n
