Entre as \u00e1reas de aplica\u00e7\u00e3o do TileDB est\u00e3o mencionados diversos sistemas de processamento de informa\u00e7\u00f5es gen\u00e9ticas, dados espaciais e financeiros, ou seja, sistemas que operam com  <noindex><a rel=\"nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/ru.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/%D0%A0%D0%B0%D0%B7%D1%80%D0%B5%D0%B6%D0%B5%D0%BD%D0%BD%D1%8B%D0%B9_%D0%BC%D0%B0%D1%81%D1%81%D0%B8%D0%B2\">esparsos<\/a><\/noindex> ou arrays multidimensionais preenchidos continuamente. O TileDB oferece uma biblioteca em C++ para abstrair de forma transparente o acesso a dados e metadados em aplica\u00e7\u00f5es, cuidando de toda a organiza\u00e7\u00e3o de armazenamento eficiente de baixo n\u00edvel. O c\u00f3digo do projeto \u00e9 escrito em C++ e <noindex><a rel=\"nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/github.com\/TileDB-Inc\/TileDB\">\u00e9 distribu\u00eddo<\/a><\/noindex> est\u00e1 sob a licen\u00e7a MIT. O armazenamento tamb\u00e9m \u00e9 otimizado para o processamento de matrizes esparsas de tamanho heterog\u00eaneo (as c\u00e9lulas podem conter dados de diferentes tipos e opera\u00e7\u00f5es de mesclagem podem ser realizadas em colunas de tipos diversos, como aquelas que armazenam nome, tempo e pre\u00e7o).
