O sistema \u00e9 projetado para resolver tarefas como garantir o funcionamento do servi\u00e7o de suporte t\u00e9cnico (help desk), gerenciar as respostas a solicita\u00e7\u00f5es de clientes (chamadas telef\u00f4nicas, email), coordenar a presta\u00e7\u00e3o de servi\u00e7os de TI corporativos, gerenciar solicita\u00e7\u00f5es no departamento de vendas e nas \u00e1reas financeiras. O c\u00f3digo do OTOBO \u00e9 escrito em Perl e <noindex><a rel=\"nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/github.com\/RotherOSS\/otobo\">\u00e9 distribu\u00eddo<\/a><\/noindex> sob a licen\u00e7a GPLv3.<\/p>\n<p>Stefan Rother, atualmente fundador e diretor-geral da Rother OSS, juntou-se \u00e0 OTRS GmbH (hoje OTRS AG) em 2004. Em 2011, ele fundou sua pr\u00f3pria empresa, a Rother OSS. At\u00e9 2019, a Rother OSS focou na presta\u00e7\u00e3o de servi\u00e7os empresariais relacionados \u00e0s vers\u00f5es de c\u00f3digo aberto do OTRS. Em resposta \u00e0 estrat\u00e9gia de lan\u00e7amento alterada da OTRS AG e ao atraso no lan\u00e7amento de novas vers\u00f5es da OTRS Community Edition, a Rother OSS come\u00e7ou a desenvolver o sistema de tickets OTOBO (Open Ticket Ours Based Otrs) baseado na vers\u00e3o 6 do OTRS. O conceito de neg\u00f3cios do OTOBO \u00e9 apoiar os usu\u00e1rios empresariais, oferecer consultoria e treinamento.
