GitHub anunciou<\/a><\/noindex> sobre a decis\u00e3o de parar de suportar a autentica\u00e7\u00e3o por senha ao se conectar ao Git. A execu\u00e7\u00e3o direta de opera\u00e7\u00f5es com o Git, que exigem autentica\u00e7\u00e3o, ser\u00e1 poss\u00edvel apenas com o uso de chaves SSH ou tokens (tokens pessoais do GitHub ou OAuth). Uma restri\u00e7\u00e3o semelhante tamb\u00e9m ser\u00e1 aplicada \u00e0 API REST. As novas regras de autentica\u00e7\u00e3o para a API entrar\u00e3o em vigor em 13 de novembro, enquanto o endurecimento do acesso ao Git est\u00e1 previsto para o meio do pr\u00f3ximo ano. Uma exce\u00e7\u00e3o ser\u00e1 concedida apenas \u00e0s contas que utilizam autentica\u00e7\u00e3o de dois fatores<\/a><\/noindex>, que poder\u00e3o se conectar ao Git usando uma senha e um c\u00f3digo de confirma\u00e7\u00e3o adicional. <\/p>\n

A medida de endurecimento dos requisitos de autentica\u00e7\u00e3o visa proteger os usu\u00e1rios de compromissos de seus reposit\u00f3rios em caso de vazamento de bases de dados de usu\u00e1rios ou hacking de servi\u00e7os de terceiros, onde os usu\u00e1rios utilizaram as mesmas senhas com o GitHub. Entre as vantagens da autentica\u00e7\u00e3o por token est\u00e1 a possibilidade de gerar tokens separados para dispositivos e sess\u00f5es espec\u00edficas, suporte para revogar tokens comprometidos sem alterar credenciais, a possibilidade de limitar o escopo de acesso atrav\u00e9s do token, e a resist\u00eancia dos tokens \u00e0 identifica\u00e7\u00e3o por for\u00e7a bruta.<\/p>\n
