Fără a atrage atenția, echipa de dezvoltare a lansat CentOS 8.1 - o variantă complet gratuită a distribuției comerciale de la Red Hat.Noutățile sunt similare

Recent, Mike Gabriel, one of the maintainers of Debian, made an agreement with people from the UBports Foundation to "package" the Unity 8 desktop for Debian.

Why do this?

The main advantage of Unity 8 is convergence: a single codebase for all platforms. It looks equally good on desktops, tablets, and smartphones. Currently, there is no ready-made solution for tablets and smartphones in Debian.

Progress doesn't stand still!

All information about the adaptation process of Unity 8 and Mir in Debian can be tracked on the Planet Debian website, in Mike Gabriel's personal blog, or on his Mastodon page.
