Conform dezvoltatorilor proiectului, PowerDNS Authoritative Server gestioneaz\u0103 aproximativ 30% din totalul domeniilor din Europa (dac\u0103 lu\u0103m \u00een considerare doar domeniile cu semn\u0103turi DNSSEC, procentul cre\u0219te la 90%). Codul proiectului este distribuit sub licen\u021ba GPLv2.    <\/p>\n<p>PowerDNS Authoritative Server ofer\u0103 posibilitatea de a stoca informa\u021bii despre domenii \u00een diverse baze de date, inclusiv MySQL, PostgreSQL, SQLite3, Oracle \u0219i Microsoft SQL Server, precum \u0219i \u00een LDAP \u0219i fi\u0219iere text obi\u0219nuite \u00een format BIND. R\u0103spunsul poate fi suplimentar filtrat (de exemplu, pentru a exclude spamul) sau redirec\u021bionat cu ajutorul integr\u0103rii de manipulatoare proprii \u00een limbaje precum Lua, Java, Perl, Python, Ruby, C \u0219i C++. Caracteristicile includ \u0219i instrumente pentru colectarea statisticilor la distan\u021b\u0103, inclusiv prin SNMP sau prin API Web (pentru statistici \u0219i management, este integrat un server http), repornire instantanee, un motor integrat pentru conectarea manipulatoarelor \u00een limbajul Lua, \u0219i capacitatea de a realiza un echilibru de sarcin\u0103 \u021bin\u00e2nd cont de pozi\u021bia geografic\u0103 a clientului.      <\/p>\n<p>Nout\u0103\u021bi principale:  <\/p>\n<ul>\n<li class=\"l\"> Cache-ul zonelor DNS este activat implicit, permi\u021b\u00e2nd p\u0103strarea listei zonelor DNS \u00een memorie.
