Mediul desktop de baz\u0103 este construit pe baza GNUstep, dar utilizatorii au posibilitatea de a instala WindowMaker, GNOME, Xfce sau Lumina. A fost preg\u0103tit un imagine de instalare cu dimensiunea de 743 MB (x86, amd64).        <\/p>\n<p>Spre deosebire de alte versiuni desktop ale FreeBSD, sistemul de operare MidnightBSD a fost dezvoltat ini\u021bial ca un fork al FreeBSD 6.1-beta, care \u00een 2011 a fost sincronizat cu baza de cod FreeBSD 7 \u0219i, ulterior, a \u00eenglobat multe func\u021bionalit\u0103\u021bi din ramurile FreeBSD 9, 10 \u0219i 11. Pentru gestionarea pachetelor, MidnightBSD utilizeaz\u0103 sistemul mport, care folose\u0219te o baz\u0103 de date SQLite pentru stocarea indexurilor \u0219i metadatelor. Instalarea, eliminarea \u0219i c\u0103utarea pachetelor se realizeaz\u0103 printr-o singur\u0103 comand\u0103 mport.     <\/p>\n<p>Modific\u0103ri principale:  <\/p>\n<ul>\n<li class=\"l\"> Pentru compilare a fost utilizat LLVM 10.0.1.\n<li class=\"l\"> Au fost actualizate versiunile: mport 2.1.4, APR-util 1.6.1, APR 1.7.0, Subversion 1.14.0, file 5.39, sendmail 8.16.1, sqlite3 3.35.5, tzdata 2021a, libarchive 3.5.0, unbound 1.13.0, xz 5.2.5, openmp.\n<li class=\"l\"> Au fost ad\u0103ugate drivere pentru NetFPGA SUME 4x10Gb Ethernet, JMicron JMB582\/JMB585 AHCI, BCM54618SE PHY \u0219i Bitron Video AV2010\/10 ZigBee USB Stick.\n<li class=\"l\"> Au fost actualizate driverele: e1000 (Intel gigabit Ethernet), mlx5, nxge, usb, vxge.\n<li class=\"l\"> Au fost declarate \u00eenvechite driverele ctau (Cronyx Tau) \u0219i cx (Cronyx Sigma).\n<li class=\"l\"> Au fost aduse \u00eembun\u0103t\u0103\u021biri \u00een managerul de pachete mport. A fost implementat un proces de actualizare a dependen\u021belor \u00een timpul instal\u0103rii sau actualiz\u0103rii pachetelor. A fost asigurat\u0103 corecta afi\u0219are a cod\u0103rii la extragerea fi\u0219ierelor din arhive care con\u021bin caractere non-ASCII \u00een denumirile fi\u0219ierelor.
