A ap\u0103rut prima versiune public\u0103 a proiectului MangoDB, care ofer\u0103 un strat cu implementarea protocolului de SGBD orientat pe documente MongoDB, func\u021bion\u00e2nd deasupra SGBD-ului PostgreSQL. Proiectul vizeaz\u0103 oferirea posibilit\u0103\u021bii de migrare a aplica\u021biilor care folosesc SGBD MongoDB c\u0103tre PostgreSQL \u0219i un stiv\u0103 software complet deschis\u0103. Codul este scris \u00een limbajul Go \u0219i este distribuit sub licen\u021ba Apache 2.0. <\/p>\n

Programul func\u021bioneaz\u0103 sub form\u0103 de proxy, transmi\u021b\u00e2nd solicit\u0103rile c\u0103tre MangoDB sub form\u0103 de interog\u0103ri SQL c\u0103tre PostgreSQL, utiliz\u00e2nd PostgreSQL ca depozit efectiv. Proiectul este compatibil cu driverele pentru MongoDB, dar momentan se afl\u0103 \u00een stadiul de prototip \u0219i nu suport\u0103 func\u021bionalit\u0103\u021bi avansate ale protocolului MongoDB, de\u0219i este deja potrivit pentru migrarea aplica\u021biilor simple. <\/p>\n

MongoDB suport\u0103 stocarea documentelor \u00een format similar JSON, are un limbaj destul de flexibil pentru formarea interog\u0103rilor, poate crea indec\u0219i pentru diferite atribute stocate, asigur\u0103 eficient stocarea obiectelor binare mari, suport\u0103 jurnalizarea opera\u021biunilor de modificare \u0219i ad\u0103ugare a datelor \u00een baza de date, poate func\u021biona conform paradigmei Map\/Reduce, suport\u0103 replicarea \u0219i construirea unor configura\u021bii tolerante la erori.
