Acesta este al treilea release \u00een cadrul proiectului GNU \u0219i continu\u0103 s\u0103 fie prezentat ca un test, deoarece necesit\u0103 stabilizare \u0219i testare suplimentare. Libreboot dezvolt\u0103 o ramur\u0103 complet liber\u0103 a proiectului CoreBoot, oferind o versiune cur\u0103\u021bat\u0103 de inser\u021bii binare ca alternativ\u0103 la firmware-urile proprietare UEFI \u0219i BIOS, care se ocup\u0103 cu ini\u021bializarea CPU-ului, memoriei, perifericelor \u0219i altor componente hardware.    <\/p>\n<p>Libreboot are ca scop crearea unui mediu de sistem care s\u0103 permit\u0103 complet evitarea software-ului proprietar, nu doar la nivelul sistemului de operare, ci \u0219i al firmware-urilor care asigur\u0103 bootarea. Libreboot nu doar c\u0103 cur\u0103\u021b\u0103 CoreBoot de componentele ne-libere, ci \u00eel completeaz\u0103 cu instrumente pentru simplificarea utiliz\u0103rii de c\u0103tre utilizatori finali, form\u00e2nd o distribu\u021bie pe care o poate folosi orice utilizator f\u0103r\u0103 abilit\u0103\u021bi tehnice speciale.       <\/p>\n<p>Printre echipamentele suportate \u00een Libreboot:  <\/p>\n<ul>\n<li class=\"l\"> Sisteme desktop Gigabyte GA-G41M-ES2L, Intel D510MO, Intel D410PT, Intel D945GCLF \u0219i Apple iMac 5,2.\n<li class=\"l\"> Servere \u0219i sta\u021bii de lucru: ASUS KCMA-D8, ASUS KGPE-D16, ASUS KFSN4-DRE.\n<li class=\"l\"> Laptopuri: ThinkPad X60 \/ X60S \/ X60 Tablet, ThinkPad T60, Lenovo ThinkPad X200 \/ X200S \/ X200 Tablet, Lenovo ThinkPad R400, Lenovo ThinkPad T400 \/ T400S, Lenovo ThinkPad T500, Lenovo ThinkPad W500, Lenovo ThinkPad R500, Apple MacBook1,1 \u0219i MacBook2,1.  <\/ul>\n<p>\u00cen noua versiune:  <\/p>\n<ul>\n<li class=\"l\"> Au fost transferate modific\u0103rile din CoreBoot 4.14 \u0219i versiunile noi de SeaBIOS \u0219i GRUB.\n<li class=\"l\"> Suportul pentru Tianocore (implementarea deschis\u0103 UEFI) a fost exclus din sistemul de construc\u021bie din cauza problemelor de \u00eentre\u021binere \u0219i a problemelor nerezolvate.
