Codul dezvoltat de VeraCrypt este distribuit sub licen\u021ba Apache 2.0, iar \u00eemprumuturile din TrueCrypt continu\u0103 s\u0103 fie livrate sub licen\u021ba TrueCrypt License 3.0. Versiunile finale sunt disponibile pentru Linux, FreeBSD, Windows \u0219i macOS.    <\/p>\n<p>VeraCrypt se remarc\u0103 prin \u00eenlocuirea algoritmului RIPEMD-160 folosit \u00een TrueCrypt cu SHA-512 \u0219i SHA-256, cre\u0219terea num\u0103rului de itera\u021bii de hashing, simplificarea procesului de construire pentru Linux \u0219i macOS, eliminarea problemelor identificate \u00een cadrul auditului codului surs\u0103 TrueCrypt. \u00cen plus, VeraCrypt ofer\u0103 un mod de compatibilitate cu parti\u021biile TrueCrypt \u0219i con\u021bine unelte pentru transformarea parti\u021biilor TrueCrypt \u00een format VeraCrypt.         <\/p>\n<p>Noua versiune ofer\u0103 aproximativ 40 de modific\u0103ri, printre care:  <\/p>\n<ul>\n<li class=\"l\"> A fost ad\u0103ugat\u0103 suport pentru platforma OpenBSD.\n<li class=\"l\"> Op\u021biunea &#171;&#8212;size=max&#187; a fost ad\u0103ugat\u0103 la utilitarul de linie de comand\u0103 pentru a oferi containerului criptat tot spa\u021biul disk disponibil.
