Potrivit dezvoltatorilor proiectului, PowerDNS Authoritative Server gestioneaz\u0103 aproximativ 30% din totalul domeniilor din Europa (dac\u0103 lu\u0103m \u00een considerare doar domeniile cu semn\u0103turi DNSSEC, atunci 90%). Codul proiectului este disponibil sub licen\u021ba GPLv2.    <\/p>\n<p>PowerDNS Authoritative Server ofer\u0103 posibilitatea de a stoca informa\u021bii despre domenii \u00een diverse baze de date, inclusiv MySQL, PostgreSQL, SQLite3, Oracle \u0219i Microsoft SQL Server, precum \u0219i \u00een LDAP \u0219i fi\u0219iere text obi\u0219nuite \u00een format BIND. R\u0103spunsul poate fi suplimentar filtrat (de exemplu, pentru a exclude spamul) sau redirec\u021bionat cu ajutorul integr\u0103rii de manipulatoare proprii \u00een limbaje precum Lua, Java, Perl, Python, Ruby, C \u0219i C++.
