Codul DentOS este scris \u00een limbajul C \u0219i este distribuit sub licen\u021ba liber\u0103 Eclipse Public License.     <\/p>\n<p>Pentru gestionarea comut\u0103rii pachetelor \u00een DentOS, este folosit\u0103 sub-sistemul nucleului Linux SwitchDev, care permite crearea de drivere pentru switch-uri Ethernet, capabile s\u0103 delege opera\u021biunile de redirec\u021bionare a cadrelor \u0219i procesarea pachetelor de re\u021bea c\u0103tre cipuri hardware specializate. Software-ul se bazeaz\u0103 pe stiva de re\u021bea standard Linux, sub-sistemul NetLink \u0219i instrumente precum IPRoute2, tc (Traffic Control), brctl (Bridge Control) \u0219i FRRouting, precum \u0219i protocoalele VRRP (Protocol de redundan\u021b\u0103 a routerelor virtuale), LLDP (Protocol de descoperire a nivelului de leg\u0103tur\u0103) \u0219i MSTP (Protocol de arbori de extensie multiple).      <\/p>\n<p><center><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"Lansarea DentOS 2.0, un sistem de operare de re\u021bea pentru comutatoare. \" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/03\/9426360dce16e4666c54da9c67709ef2.jpg\" style=\"display:block;margin: 0 auto;\" \/><\/center>          <\/p>\n<p>Mediul sistemului este bazat pe distribu\u021bia ONL (Open Network Linux), care, la r\u00e2ndul s\u0103u, utilizeaz\u0103 baza de pachete Debian GNU\/Linux \u0219i ofer\u0103 un instalator, configur\u0103ri \u0219i drivere pentru a rula pe switch-uri. ONL este dezvoltat de proiectul Open Compute \u0219i reprezint\u0103 o platform\u0103 pentru crearea de dispozitive de re\u021bea specializate, care suport\u0103 instalarea pe peste o sut\u0103 de modele diferite de switch-uri. Acesta include drivere pentru interac\u021biunea cu indicatoarele utilizate pe switch-uri, senzori de temperatur\u0103, ventilatoare, bus-uri I2C, GPIO \u0219i transceivere SFP. Pentru gestionare pot fi utilizate instrumentele IpRoute2 \u0219i ifupdown2, precum \u0219i gNMI (gRPC Network Management Interface). Modelele de date YANG (Yet Another Next Generation, RFC-6020) sunt utilizate pentru a determina configura\u021bia.             <\/p>\n<p>Sistemul este disponibil pentru switch-uri bazate pe ASIC Marvell \u0219i Mellanox, cu p\u00e2n\u0103 la 48 de porturi de 10 gigabi\u021bi. Se suport\u0103 lucrul cu diverse ASIC-uri \u0219i cipuri de procesare a datelor de re\u021bea, inclusiv cipurile ASIC Mellanox Spectrum, Marvell Aldrin 2 \u0219i Marvell AC3X, cu implementarea tabelelor de redirec\u021bionare hardware a pachetelor.
