Stratis ofer\u0103 func\u021bionalit\u0103\u021bi precum alocarea dinamic\u0103 a spa\u021biului de stocare, snapshots, asigurarea integrit\u0103\u021bii \u0219i crearea de straturi pentru caching. Suportul pentru Stratis este integrat \u00een distribu\u021biile Fedora \u0219i RHEL \u00eencep\u00e2nd cu versiunile Fedora 28 \u0219i RHEL 8.2. Codul proiectului este distribuit sub licen\u021ba MPL 2.0.      <\/p>\n<p>Sistemul repet\u0103 \u00een mare parte capacit\u0103\u021bile avansate de management al parti\u021biilor ZFS \u0219i Btrfs, dar este implementat sub forma unei straturi (daemonul stratisd) care func\u021bioneaz\u0103 deasupra subsistemului device-mapper al nucleului Linux (utiliz\u00e2nd modulele dm-thin, dm-cache, dm-thinpool, dm-raid \u0219i dm-integrity) \u0219i a sistemului de fi\u0219iere XFS. Spre deosebire de ZFS \u0219i Btrfs, componentele Stratis func\u021bioneaz\u0103 doar \u00een spa\u021biul utilizatorului \u0219i nu necesit\u0103 \u00eenc\u0103rcarea modulelor specifice nucleului. Proiectul este prezentat ini\u021bial ca neav\u00e2nd nevoie de calific\u0103ri de expert \u00een administrarea sistemelor de stocare.     <\/p>\n<p>Pentru management este furnizat un API D-Bus \u0219i o utilitar\u0103 cli. Func\u021bionarea Stratis a fost testat\u0103 cu dispozitive bloc pe baz\u0103 de LUKS (parti\u021bii criptate), mdraid, dm-multipath, iSCSI, volume logice LVM, precum \u0219i cu diverse HDD-uri, SSD-uri \u0219i unit\u0103\u021bi NVMe. \u00cen cazul unui singur disc \u00een grup, Stratis permite utilizarea parti\u021biilor logice cu suport pentru instantanee pentru revenirea la modific\u0103ri. Odat\u0103 cu ad\u0103ugarea mai multor unit\u0103\u021bi \u00een grup, apare posibilitatea de a combina logic unit\u0103\u021bile \u00eentr-o zon\u0103 continu\u0103.
