O vulnerabilitate a fost identifikat\u0103 \u00een kernelul Linux (CVE-2022-2590), care permite unui utilizator f\u0103r\u0103 privilegii s\u0103 modifice fi\u0219ierele reflectate \u00een memorie (mmap) \u0219i fi\u0219ierele \u00een tmpfs, f\u0103r\u0103 a avea drepturi de scriere asupra acestora, \u0219i s\u0103 \u00ee\u0219i creasc\u0103 privilegiile \u00een sistem. Problema este similar\u0103 cu vulnerabilitatea Dirty COW, dar se limiteaz\u0103 doar la impactul asupra datelor din memoria partajat\u0103 (shmem \/ tmpfs). Problema poate fi folosit\u0103 \u0219i pentru a modifica fi\u0219ierele executabile care ruleaz\u0103 \u0219i folosesc memoria partajat\u0103. <\/p>\n

Problema este cauzat\u0103 de o condi\u021bie de competi\u021bie \u00een subsistemul gestion\u0103rii memoriei, care apare \u00een timpul proces\u0103rii unei excep\u021bii (fault) generate atunci c\u00e2nd se \u00eencearc\u0103 accesul \u00een scriere la zonele doar \u00een citire din memoria partajat\u0103, reflectate \u00een modul COW (copy-on-write mapping). Problema se manifest\u0103 \u00eencep\u00e2nd cu kernelul 5.16 pe sistemele cu arhitecturi x86-64 \u0219i aarch64, atunci c\u00e2nd kernelul este compilat cu op\u021biunea CONFIG_USERFAULTFD=y. Vulnerabilitatea a fost remediat\u0103 \u00een versiunea 5.19. Un exemplu de exploit este planificat s\u0103 fie publicat pe 15 august.
