Conform dezvoltatorilor proiectului, PowerDNS Authoritative Server deserve\u0219te aproximativ 30% din totalitatea domeniilor din Europa (dac\u0103 ne limit\u0103m doar la domeniile cu semn\u0103turi DNSSEC, procentul ajunge la 90%). Codul proiectului este distribuit sub licen\u021ba GPLv2.    <\/p>\n<p>PowerDNS Authoritative Server ofer\u0103 posibilitatea de a stoca informa\u021bii despre domenii \u00een diverse baze de date, inclusiv MySQL, PostgreSQL, SQLite3, Oracle \u0219i Microsoft SQL Server, precum \u0219i \u00een LDAP \u0219i fi\u0219iere text obi\u0219nuite \u00een format BIND. R\u0103spunsul poate fi suplimentar filtrat (de exemplu, pentru a exclude spamul) sau redirec\u021bionat cu ajutorul integr\u0103rii de manipulatoare proprii \u00een limbaje precum Lua, Java, Perl, Python, Ruby, C \u0219i C++. C\u00e2nd zonele sunt stocate \u00een SGBD, num\u0103rul de interog\u0103ri SQL a fost semnificativ redus \u2014 \u00een loc de o interogare separat\u0103 pentru fiecare domeniu, acum se realizeaz\u0103 o selec\u021bie de grup.
