Instrumentul permite salvarea st\u0103rii unuia sau a unui grup de procese \u0219i continuarea activit\u0103\u021bii de la pozi\u021bia salvat\u0103, inclusiv dup\u0103 repornirea sistemului sau pe un alt server, f\u0103r\u0103 a \u00eentrerupe conexiunile de re\u021bea deja stabilite. Codul proiectului este distribuit sub licen\u021ba GPLv2.    <\/p>\n<p>Dintre domeniile de aplicare a tehnologiei CRIU se remarc\u0103 asigurarea repornirii sistemului de operare f\u0103r\u0103 a \u00eentrerupe continuitatea execu\u021biei proceselor de lung\u0103 durat\u0103, migrarea live a containerelor izolate, accelerarea pornirii proceselor lente (se poate \u00eencepe activitatea de la starea salvat\u0103 dup\u0103 ini\u021bializare), efectuarea actualiz\u0103rilor nucleului f\u0103r\u0103 repornirea serviciilor, salvarea periodic\u0103 a st\u0103rii sarcinilor de calcul de lung\u0103 durat\u0103 pentru a relua activitatea \u00een caz de defec\u021biune, echilibrarea \u00eenc\u0103rc\u0103rii \u00eentre noduri \u00een clustere, duplicarea proceselor pe o alt\u0103 ma\u0219in\u0103 (fork pe un sistem \u00eendep\u0103rtat), crearea de instantanee ale aplica\u021biilor utilizatorului \u00een timpul execu\u021biei pentru analiza acestora pe un alt sistem sau \u00een cazul \u00een care este necesar\u0103 anularea ac\u021biunilor ulterioare \u00een program. CRIU este utilizat \u00een astfel de sisteme de management al containerelor precum OpenVZ, LXC\/LXD \u0219i Docker. Modific\u0103rile necesare func\u021bion\u0103rii CRIU sunt incluse \u00een nucleul principal al Linux.      <\/p>\n<p>\u00cen noua versiune:  <\/p>\n<ul>\n<li class=\"l\"> A fost oferit\u0103 de SIGSTOP, poate fi procesat \u0219i ignorat).\n<li class=\"l\"> A fost ad\u0103ugat parametrul &#171;&#8212;skip-file-rwx-check&#187; pentru a s\u0103ri peste verificarea permisiunilor fi\u0219ierului (r\/w\/x) la restaurare.\n<li class=\"l\"> A fost ad\u0103ugat\u0103 suportul pentru op\u021biunile IP_PKTINFO \u0219i IPV6_RECVPKTINFO.\n<li class=\"l\"> Pentru platformele ARM a fost implementat suportul pentru puncte hardware de oprire.\n<li class=\"l\"> A fost ad\u0103ugat\u0103 optimizarea punctelor de salvare pentru fi\u0219ierele fantom\u0103 extrem de sparse
