Pharo este o ramifica\u021bie a proiectului Squeak, la dezvoltarea c\u0103ruia a participat Alan Kay, autorul Smalltalk. Pe l\u00e2ng\u0103 implementarea limbajului de programare, Pharo ofer\u0103 de asemenea o ma\u0219in\u0103 virtual\u0103 pentru executarea codului, un mediu integrat de dezvoltare, un debuggger \u0219i un set de biblioteci, inclusiv biblioteci pentru dezvoltarea interfe\u021belor grafice.
