Compania Canonical a anun\u021bat c\u0103 \u00een Ubuntu 23.10 vor fi realizate modific\u0103ri care limiteaz\u0103 accesul utilizatorilor la spa\u021biile de nume ale identificatorului utilizatorului (user namespace), ceea ce va cre\u0219te securitatea sistemelor care utilizeaz\u0103 izolarea containerelor, protej\u00e2ndu-le de vulnerabilit\u0103\u021bi care necesit\u0103 manipularea spa\u021biilor de nume ale identificatorului utilizatorului. Potrivit Google, 44% din exploaturile implicate \u00een programul de recompense pentru identificarea vulnerabilit\u0103\u021bilor din nucleul Linux necesit\u0103 capacitatea de a crea spa\u021bii de nume ale identificatorului utilizatorului. <\/p>\n

\u00cen locul bloc\u0103rii complete a accesului la user namespace \u00een Ubuntu, a fost aplicat un sistem hibrid, care permite anumitor programe s\u0103 creeze user namespace cu un profil AppArmor care con\u021bine regula \u201eallow userns create\u201d sau cu permisiunea CAP_SYS_ADMIN. De exemplu, pentru Chrome a fost creat un profil \/etc\/apparmor.d\/opt.google.chrome.chrome, care poate fi folosit ca exemplu pentru a deschide accesul la user namespace pentru alte programe. <\/p>\n

\u00cen viitoarea versiune Ubuntu 23.10, restric\u021bionarea accesului la user namespace este planificat\u0103 s\u0103 fie oferit\u0103 ca op\u021biune, neactivat\u0103 implicit. \u00cen c\u00e2teva s\u0103pt\u0103m\u00e2ni dup\u0103 lansarea Ubuntu 23.10, dezvoltatorii vor colecta informa\u021bii despre posibila influen\u021b\u0103 negativ\u0103 a dezactiv\u0103rii accesului la user namespace asupra func\u021bion\u0103rii pachetelor \u0219i vor preg\u0103ti profilele corespunz\u0103toare AppArmor.
