Organiza\u021bia GNOME Foundation a anun\u021bat primirea sumei de un milion de euro din partea fondului Sovereign, \u00eenfiin\u021bat \u00een Germania pentru a stimula dezvoltarea infrastructurii digitale deschise \u0219i a ecosistemelor cu surs\u0103 deschis\u0103. Fondul a fost creat din fondurile oferite de Ministerul Economiei din Germania \u0219i este gestionat de Agen\u021bia Federal\u0103 pentru Inova\u021bii Disruptive SPRIND. Banii ob\u021binu\u021bi vor fi direc\u021biona\u021bi c\u0103tre modernizarea platformei GNOME, \u00eembun\u0103t\u0103\u021birea instrumentarului, extinderea resurselor pentru persoanele cu dizabilit\u0103\u021bi \u0219i implementarea unor func\u021bii de interes public. <\/p>\n

\u00cen special, se preconizeaz\u0103 dezvoltarea unui prototip nou de stiv\u0103 pentru persoanele cu dizabilit\u0103\u021bi \u0219i \u00eembun\u0103t\u0103\u021biri ale stivei existente, asigurarea suportului pentru criptarea selectiv\u0103 a directoarelor de utilizator, modernizarea sistemului de stocare a parolelor \u0219i cheilor, cre\u0219terea calit\u0103\u021bii suportului hardware, stabilirea controlului calit\u0103\u021bii, extinderea API-ului Freedesktop \u0219i desf\u0103\u0219urarea activit\u0103\u021bilor de consolidare \u0219i \u00eembun\u0103t\u0103\u021bire a componentelor platformei. <\/p>\n

Pe l\u00e2ng\u0103 GNOME, fondul Sovereign a sprijinit \u0219i alte proiecte deschise, cum ar fi OpenSSH, WireGuard, Python, RubyGems, curl, OpenBGPd, OpenMLS, OpenPGP.js\/GopenPGP, Pendulum, Sequoia PGP \u0219i Yocto. Suma de suport pentru aceste proiecte nu a fost specificat\u0103, dar se \u0219tie c\u0103 bugetul total pentru anul 2023 este de 11,5 milioane de euro.
