Dezvoltarea Weston vizeaz\u0103 furnizarea unei baze de cod de \u00eenalt\u0103 calitate \u0219i exemple func\u021bionale pentru utilizarea Wayland \u00een medii desktop \u0219i solu\u021bii \u00eencorporate, cum ar fi platformele pentru sisteme de infotainement auto, smartphone-uri, televizoare \u0219i alte dispozitive de consum. Codul proiectului este distribuit sub licen\u021ba MIT.    <\/p>\n<p>Schimbarea semnificativ\u0103 a num\u0103rului versiunii Weston se datoreaz\u0103 existen\u021bei unor modific\u0103ri care afecteaz\u0103 compatibilitatea. Modific\u0103rile din noua ramur\u0103 Weston:  <\/p>\n<ul>\n<li class=\"l\"> A fost ad\u0103ugat\u0103 posibilitatea de a \u00eenc\u0103rca simultan mai multe backend-uri, de exemplu, \u00eempreun\u0103 cu backend-ul principal de ie\u0219ire se pot \u00eenc\u0103rca backend-uri secundare vnc, rdp \u0219i pipewire.\n<li class=\"l\"> Backend-urile backend-vnc, backend-pipewire \u0219i backend-rdp au fost actualizate cu suport pentru redare folosind OpenGL.\n<li class=\"l\"> \u00cen shell-ul pentru crearea chioscurilor de internet (kiosk-shell) a fost \u00eembun\u0103t\u0103\u021bit\u0103 func\u021bionarea \u00een modul pe tot ecranul. A fost ad\u0103ugat\u0103 posibilitatea de a crea suprafe\u021be pe tot ecranul pentru aplica\u021biile lansate prin xwayland.\n<li class=\"l\"> A fost ad\u0103ugat suport pentru suprapunerea ie\u0219irii, permi\u021b\u00e2nd plasarea elementelor pe planuri afi\u0219ate pe mai multe dispozitive de ie\u0219ire.\n<li class=\"l\"> \u00cen shell-ul desktop-shell a fost implementat\u0103 posibilitatea de restric\u021bionare a zonei de mi\u0219care a cursorului (pointer confinement) pe suprafe\u021bele cu afi\u0219aj pe tot ecranul.\n<li class=\"l\"> \u00cen backend-ul drm-backend \u0219i \u00een diferi\u021bi clien\u021bi a fost eliminat suportul pentru versiunile bibliotecii libgbm anterioare versiunii 21.1.1.\n<li class=\"l\"> A fost ad\u0103ugat\u0103 func\u021bia weston_view_move_to_layer() pentru a muta zona vizibil\u0103 (view) pe un strat specificat sau pentru a o elimina din graficul scenei, dac\u0103 stratul specificat este NULL.\n<li class=\"l\"> Func\u021biile weston_view_set_position, weston_touch \u0219i weston_output, precum \u0219i shell-urile au fost actualizate pentru a utiliza structura weston_coord.\n<li class=\"l\"> A fost ad\u0103ugat\u0103 func\u021bia weston_log_scopes_iterate() pentru a itera prin zonele din log.\n<li class=\"l\"> Componenta launcher-logind a fost eliminat\u0103, fiind \u00eenlocuit\u0103 de
