Wirth este cunoscut pentru contribu\u021biile sale la dezvoltarea unor limbaje de programare precum Algol, Modula, Oberon. Cea mai cunoscut\u0103 realizare a muncii sale este limbajul de programare Pascal, cu care \u00eentreaga genera\u021bie de studen\u021bi \u0219i-a \u00eenceput parcursul profesional. De asemenea, a fost implicat \u00een crearea \u0219i popularizarea paradigmei program\u0103rii structurale, revolu\u021bionar\u0103 la acea vreme.
