Administratorii depozitului de pachete Python PyPI (Python Package Index) au publicat informa\u021bii referitoare la identificarea unui acces neautorizat la 174 de conturi de utilizatori ai serviciului. Potrivit reprezentan\u021bilor PyPI, parametrii de autentificare ai utilizatorilor afecta\u021bi au fost ob\u021binu\u021bi din colec\u021bii de date compromise anterior, generate ca rezultat al atacurilor cibernetice sau scurgerilor de baze de date ale altor servicii. Accesul la conturile din PyPI a fost posibil din cauza utiliz\u0103rii de c\u0103tre victimele atacului a acelora\u0219i parole pe diferite site-uri \u0219i neactiv\u0103rii autentific\u0103rii cu doi factori \u00een catalogul PyPI. <\/p>\n

Activitatea atacatorilor a fost identificat\u0103 dup\u0103 primirea unei serii de pl\u00e2ngeri, \u00een care utilizatorii raportau c\u0103 au primit notific\u0103ri de la PyPI privind activarea autentific\u0103rii cu doi factori, de\u0219i nu s-au autentificat \u00een conturile lor \u00een acel moment \u0219i nu au efectuat nicio modificare. \u00cen urma analizei jurnalelor, s-a descoperit accesul neautorizat la conturile a 174 de utilizatori. Nu s-au g\u0103sit dovezi de falsificare a pachetelor sau alte activit\u0103\u021bi d\u0103un\u0103toare - toate ac\u021biunile atacatorilor s-au limitat la accesul neautorizat \u0219i modificarea conturilor. <\/p>\n

Conturile afectate au fost blocate p\u00e2n\u0103 la finalizarea investiga\u021biei, iar tuturor celorlal\u021bi utilizatori PyPI, la care nu a fost activat\u0103 autentificarea cu doi factori, le-au fost trimise notific\u0103ri \u0219i s-a ini\u021biat procesul de re-verificare a e-mail-ului lor. \u00cen total, autentificarea cu doi factori nu a fost activat\u0103 pentru 370 de mii de utilizatori (56%) din catalog.
