Compania KDAB a anun\u021bat dezvoltarea componentei Servo WebView pentru Qt, care utilizeaz\u0103 motorul de browser Servo \u00een locul modulului Qt WebEngine (bazat pe Chromium) pentru a afi\u0219a con\u021binut web \u00een aplica\u021biile QML. Se preconizeaz\u0103 c\u0103 proiectul va ajuta la reducerea suprafe\u021bei de atac pentru aplica\u021biile Qt care utilizeaz\u0103 API-ul WebView, prin aplicarea unei componente \u00een care, datorit\u0103 limbajului Rust, au fost minimizate vulnerabilit\u0103\u021bile cauzate de erorile de gestionare a memoriei. Codul Servo WebView pentru Qt este distribuit sub licen\u021ba MPL-2.0. <\/p>\n

Pentru organizarea func\u021bion\u0103rii codului Servo, scris \u00een limbajul Rust, \u00eentr-un mediu C++, este utilizat\u0103 o interfa\u021b\u0103 CXX-Qt. CXX-Qt permite crearea de componente \u00een limbajul Rust, integrate cu programele \u00een C++ care folosesc Qt. Utilizarea CXX-Qt ofer\u0103 posibilitatea de a crea subclase QObject \u00een Rust, care pot fi folosite \u00een codul C++, QML \u0219i JavaScript. De asemenea, exist\u0103 posibilitatea de a crea programe Rust care apeleaz\u0103 codul C++, pentru care sunt furnizate leg\u0103turi Rust asupra claselor tipice QtCore \u0219i QtGui. <\/p>\n

Proiectul Servo a fost dezvoltat ini\u021bial de compania Mozilla, dar apoi a trecut sub tutela organiza\u021biei Linux Foundation.
