\u00cen codul surs\u0103 OpenBSD a fost acceptat\u0103 o modificare care schimb\u0103 utilitarul tar, set\u00e2nd utilizarea, pe default, a formatului PAX la crearea arhivelor. Aceast\u0103 modificare va fi inclus\u0103 \u00een versiunea OpenBSD 7.6. Utilizarea formatului PAX va permite p\u0103strarea numelui de fi\u0219iere mai lungi, gestionarea linkurilor, folosirea unor informa\u021bii temporale mai precise \u0219i includerea \u00een arhiv\u0103 a fi\u0219ierelor de dimensiuni foarte mari. <\/p>\n

Printre dezavantajele trecerii la PAX se men\u021bioneaz\u0103 cre\u0219terea dimensiunii arhivelor necompresate \u0219i suportul limitat pentru format \u00een ecosistem. Pentru a reveni la comportamentul anterior \u0219i a salva arhivele \u00een format TAR, se recomand\u0103 specificarea op\u021biunii «-F ustar» la apelarea utilitarului tar.
