GWPSan efectueaz\u0103 o analiz\u0103 dinamic\u0103, activat\u0103 prin intermediul gestionatorilor de semnale, ceea ce permite evitarea modific\u0103rii codului executabil al aplica\u021biei. Pentru a func\u021biona eficient, majoritatea detectorilor necesit\u0103 ca aplica\u021bia s\u0103 fie compilat\u0103 cu anumite flaguri ale compilatorului, care adaug\u0103 metadate necesare.
