Jason A. Donenfeld, autorul VPN WireGuard, a prezentat patch-uri care accelereaz\u0103 semnificativ ob\u021binerea numerelor aleatoare de la sistem prin func\u021bia getrandom(), implementat\u0103 prin intermediul apelului de sistem corespunz\u0103tor din Linux. Avantajul acestei solu\u021bii \u00een compara\u021bie cu utilizarea \/dev\/random sau \/dev\/urandom este rezisten\u021ba la atacurile de epuizare a descriptorilor de fi\u0219iere, care pot duce la generarea de chei criptografice neini\u021bializate \u0219i nesigure. <\/p>\n

Optimizarea propus\u0103 se bazeaz\u0103 pe utilizarea mecanismului vDSO (virtual dynamic shared object), care permite mutarea handler-ului apelului de sistem din nucleu \u00een spa\u021biul utilizatorului, evit\u00e2nd comut\u0103rile de context. \u00cen cazul fuc\u021biei getrandom(), implementarea apelului de sistem asociat este realizat\u0103 sub form\u0103 de vDSO, codul fiind pre\u00eenc\u0103rcat \u00een spa\u021biul de adresare al procesului direct de nucleu. Aceast\u0103 abordare a permis accelerarea ob\u021binerii numerelor aleatoare \u00een unele situa\u021bii de p\u00e2n\u0103 la 15 ori \u0219i mai mult.
