A fost lansat\u0103 versiunea instrumentului GNU Mes 0.27, care asigur\u0103 procesul de bootstrap pentru GCC \u0219i permite realizarea unui ciclu \u00eenchis de recompilare din surse. Instrumentul rezolv\u0103 problema unei construc\u021bii ini\u021biale verificate a compilatorului \u00een distribu\u021bii, rup\u00e2nd lan\u021bul de recompilare cyclic\u0103 (pentru a construi compilatorul sunt necesare fi\u0219iere executabile ale unui compilator deja construit, iar construc\u021biile binare ale compilatorului pot reprezenta surse ascunse de backdoor, ceea ce nu permite garantarea complet\u0103 a integrit\u0103\u021bii construc\u021biilor din sursele de referin\u021b\u0103). <\/p>\n

\u00cen GNU Mes este oferit un interpret autonom (self-hosting) pentru limbajul Scheme, scris \u00een C, \u0219i un compilator simplu pentru limbajul C (MesCC), scris \u00een Scheme. Ambele componente sunt interconstruibile. Interpretul Scheme ofer\u0103 posibilitatea de a construi compilatorul C MesCC, care apoi permite construirea unei versiuni reduse a compilatorului TinyCC (tcc), a c\u0103rei func\u021bionalitate este suficient\u0103 pentru construirea GCC. <\/p>\n

Interpretul limbajului Scheme este foarte compact, ocup\u00e2nd aproximativ 5000 de linii de cod \u00eentr-un subset simplu al limbajului C \u0219i poate fi transformat \u00eentr-un fi\u0219ier executabil folosind translatorul universal M2-Planet sau un compilator C simplu, compilat folosind asamblatorul autoconstruibil hex0, care nu necesit\u0103 dependen\u021be externe. \u00cen plus, interpretul include un colector de gunoi complet \u0219i ofer\u0103 o bibliotec\u0103 de module \u00eenc\u0103rcabile.
