Se remarc\u0103 faptul c\u0103 atribuirea num\u0103rului 1.0, dup\u0103 21 de ani de dezvoltare, marcheaz\u0103 recunoa\u0219terea preg\u0103tirii proiectului \u0219i conformitatea acestuia cu cerin\u021bele de func\u021bionalitate ale sistemelor moderne de ini\u021bializare \u0219i managerilor de servicii.      <\/p>\n<p>Proiectul este dezvoltat de dezvoltatorii distribu\u021biei GNU Guix System ca alternativ\u0103 la sistemul de ini\u021bializare SysV-init, care suport\u0103 dependen\u021bele. Demonul de control \u0219i utilitarele Shepherd sunt scrise \u00een limbajul Guile (una dintre implement\u0103rile limbajului Scheme), care este de asemenea folosit pentru a defini configura\u021biile \u0219i parametrii de pornire a serviciilor.
